I don’t think I’ve introduced by new PC build yet but that something in the writing lol. It’s name its Itsuki (Inspired by the Gotoubun no Hanayome character, Itsuki Nakano). I cannot believe I got an RTX 3070 in this build.
This build was only completed in the last two months as of writing this article.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve been testing out Windows 11 and god its amazing. A simplistic OS that works so elegantly… wait. That’s MacOS lol. But Windows 11 is actually a refresh that was absolutely needed. Don’t get me wrong, this is one massive leap for a OS that seem so misguided in design with many eras in one OS (dating as far as Vista).
I’ve installed this natively on my new rig, which is used for Design Development and Gaming. The version installed is Windows 11 Pro 2009.
Windows 10 to 11 was nearly seemless if that TPM requirement didn’t exist. But otherwise, this felt like a normal Windows update.
Fluid UI
This is the first OS Windows has nearly fully implemented their new Fluid UI vision.
Windows 11 features Fluid UI which seems heavily inspired by Apple’s MacOS Big Sur (introduced in WWDC in 2020) and this new design has been somewhat great to see in Windows 11. Windows 11 features the new design philosophy in a harmonious way that enhances a mix-matched OS.
Rounded edges is a welcomed change alongside new application icons make this a refreshed update to an OS that felt misplaced, misguided and simply rushed.
New Start Menu
I don’t honestly know what to honestly say about this, it seems good that the menu is getting a visual overhaul and this would change the way we use Windows.
The design layout feels harmonious but yet simplistic
It just feels perfect, but please stop pushing recommended apps :P.
Gaming Performance
I’ve noticed some performance increases with Windows 11 and even though this was a Developer Build, it felt like nothing really changed but since the introduction of Resizable BAR (Nvidia and AMD) which has really improved gaming. Windows claims of Gaming Performance may vary between PC.
TPM 2.0 is mandatory, despite some PC’s in this modern era don’t have this chip.
I think many PC builders in the Intel area would be wondering what is TPM 2.0 and why this OS requires it. Trusted Platform Module 2.0 has been made mandatory in Windows 11 for some strange reason. Even installing this build back earlier this year was a hassle. Ended up changing a DLL file to bypass the TPM issue.
TPM should be enabled on Windows 11 Pro, but not Windows 11 Home. This is an issue that Windows should resolve as TPM is overly complicated to enable for the normal household user as this may require enabling the TPM through the BIOS.
It’s great to know that TPM chips are being sold at relatively cheap prices and expect these to be in high demand once many individuals realize they don’t have this chip lol.
TL:LR
Cut to the chase
What is it? Windows 11 is the successor to Windows 10
When is it out? Holiday 2021
How much does it cost? Free
This OS has the opportunity to change Windows onto a forward looking path. I cannot wait to see what else comes down the track. Just don’t make TPM mandatory for everyone tho.
